Tuesday Six - 19th June, 2012

This week as usual I have favourites coming out of my ears, going back in again, swirling around and all that.

Sometimes it's all too much!

One. Neneh Cherry & The Thing - 'Dream Baby Dream' (Fourtet Remix)

Two. Can - 'Oscura Primavera'

Three. Peaking Lights - 'Live Love'

Four. Q-Tip feat. Busta Rhymes - 'For The Nasty' (Freddie Joachim Remix)

Five. Nightwave - 'For You'

Six. Thundercat - 'For Love I Come' (Lapalux Flip)

Bonus video from Neneh Cherry & the Thing doing a cover of Madvillain's legendary track 'Accordian'.

WOW.

Adi Dick x RMXD EP - Free DL

Remixes EP from Wellington City's Adi Dick.

Classic hip-hop and contemporary soul tunes are the subject matter here and Adi does a great job in updating some of the tunes with a modern feel while retaining the core (namely the lyrics!) of the originals.

Highly recommended DJ material.

Knxwledge X 'Mango' EP

Head to Knxwledge's Bandcamp for the DL of this fleeting EP.

There are four tracks, three of which just breeze by with not too much of a shake-up for the world of music.

It's track three however that is the absolute stand-out...

'Keepºn' is a BOMB remix of Busta Rhymes' 'Ill Vibe' featuring Q-Tip.

Knxwledge laces the classic acapella with loping drunk-drums, bass pops, plucks and slaps, smooth Rhodes keys and a dirty analogue sound that has a great beat-tape kinda feel.

Shouts to Christoph' El Truento for the heads up!

Listen on repeat for 90's hip-hop warm fuzzies please.

Thanks.

Five. Gold Panda - 'Same Dream China'
