J.Rocc of The World Famous Beat Junkies is probably one of the tightest, cleanest, funkiest, smoothest, most talented (party) DJ's that I have ever seen live.
Way back when the 'Scratch' Tour was here with Jazzy Jay and Q-Bert, J performed a set to make jaws drop.
So highly regarded is he that Dilla, the consumate high-standard producer that he was, chose J to be his tour DJ.
Anyhow, I digress...
His debut LP 'Some Cold Rock Stuf' was released today on the un-fadeable Stones Throw Records imprint.
I have a copy of the 'Play This Too' EP 12" that was released late last year, and since that purchase I have been hangin' for April 5th to roll around.
The appetite was further whet when I heard his beautiful slow-burner track 'Chasing The Sun' on Benji-B's Christmas Special on BBC Radio One last year.
Lovely piano and hip-hop vocal loops over some layered head-nod breaks and reversed drums.
Check that audio below...
For wax-heads, pick up the vinyl or head to i-Tunes for the loot.
